1985 - The formerly private-owned NABUO-ANETTE HOSPITAL was acquired by the local government of Mandaluyong and was renamed OSPITAL NG BAYAN NG MANDALUYONG – it functioned as a Lying-in.

1986 Functioned as a GENERAL HOSPITAL (50 bed capacity)

HOSPITAL MISSION: 

“No man shall be denied access to Hospitalization by Reason of Poverty”

1987 –  Start of DEPARTMENTALIZED CLINICAL SERVICES under the leadership of then Medical Director DR. RAMON M. GUZMAN

1992 –  Upgraded into a SECONDARY HOSPITAL. Renamed: MANDALUYONG MEDICAL CENTER under the leadership of DR. ALFREDO L. LO

1993 –  Hospital Expansion into 104 – Bed capacity, Inaugurated by Former PRES. CORAZON C. AQUINO

 

1994 –   CITYHOOD OF MANDALUYONG. Hospital was renamed

" MANDALUYONG CITY MEDICAL CENTER"

 

1996 Approval and Full Implementation of MCMC ENABLING ACT (Ordinance No. 162 S-1996) An ordinance organizing MCMC into a SEPARATE DEPARTMENT, defining its functions and operations, appropriate funds thereof and for other purposes.

Accreditation for RESIDENCY TRAINING of: Department of INTERNAL MEDICINE

 

1997 –          Completion / opening of: PEDIATRIC INFECTIOUS DISEASE WARD, PULMONARY CARE UNIT AND  BACTERIOLOGY UNIT (LABORATORY)

2001 Start of construction of the Hospital Annex Bldg. courtesy of the late Senator N. Gonzales’ Initiative Funds and Supplemental Funds of office of Rep. Neptali Gonzales II and facilitated by the office of Mayor Benhur Abalos.

 

Distribution / Implementation of the use of MANDA CARES ID – to assure better access of the City’s constituents to Hospital services.
